The strandSURF.com surf report is usually completed in the morning so please take into consideration that weather conditions can change in a short period of time. If we are in a period of heightened activity we will make an effort to have more than one report a day. In this report we measure wave height assuming that a surfer is standing on the board. Example: If the report is calling wave height to be Chest High that would mean that the front of the wave (not the back) is about 4 feet high in the face. Most reports will indicate the location, if not just assume it's in the Garden City area.

This kid has snagged some of the most ridiculous waves ever caught on film(in the OBX) this past year. Now he's apparently stepping up his game on surfing's biggest stage. Good to see guys from the Carolinas showing up big.
